  1. That is an awesome product, and a good demonstration of the types. I got a good chuckle out of the clips of the products in use -- especially the one lifting the 50ft pole up while extended fully. I think this product would be great for an aerial camera pole setup. Maybe extend it straight up, so that one isn't lifting it horizontally. Possibly for house sale photos.
  2. You made that look straightforward and accomplishable. I haven't picked up a kit yet. Thinking about it for sure. My car doesn't need any CF bling, so I'm trying to think of other things. Shelf brackets, drawer fronts, backpack handle, tags. With my 3D printer I could print molds with my TPU or PETG filament.
  3. My near 1lb two person ultralight Z Packs Duplex tent can use the the above carbon fiber trekking poles for support, but I've also had a lot of success using 2.6oz carbon fiber poles with it. Really nice having the light weight and strength that the carbon fiber composite poles supplied. 4. Carbon Fiber Trekking Poles. I used a set for over 2000 miles. They are so nice and light, and such a differences over the heavier standard ones. Such a huge differences in being able to control their placement, and not tiring my arms out over a course of 12 hours a day of hiking. https://www.blackdiamondequipment.com/en_US/product/alpine-carbon-cork/
  5. How did this project come along? I liked the idea of using a really long Carbon fiber pole to raise a small camera up and take "aerial" photos. So many places ban drones, but a 50ft tall poll with a camera on it would be acceptable.
  6. Nah, I haven't tried any of the carbon fiber filaments. I watched a few strength comparisons on Youtube and it boiled down to whether one liked the CF filament look. I like the ideas of the carbon fiber stringers. Sounds a lot like pausing the print to add magnets. Thoughts on whether you'd add some soft of glue or epoxy eventually to adhere the string to the PLA?
  7. The holidays are in progress. How is your sideview mirror frame project going?
  8. I guess a slight surface mess is better than not being able to get the model out of the form at all. Probably a situation where the quality needs greatly depend on the end use. I'm super new to this, so time for me to go look at how to make forms.
  9. Thanks for sharing @mark farkward! Now someone has talked about it, you. 😎 Did the tissue paper cause excess finishing work, or bubbles, or out tolerance problems?
  10. I can't speak for Jenn4536, but an overview would be nice. I'll give the previously posted YouTube channel a watch till you do your thing. Thanks.
  11. Hello, I'm new here. I've learned a lot about 3D printing, and now I'm thinking about a mixed material project that would utilize some carbon fiber composite bits with 3D printing parts. Thought I'd check this place out and learn a bit. Have any of you used 3D printing in with your journey in composites?
