I worked for Monogram Systems, now Safran Water and Waste Systems in Carson CA.
They developed this carbon composite toilet (the pedestal is carbon fiber), and not only is it lighter than typical aircraft toilets, but still able to withstand a lot of crap! On top of that, because of its lightness it's much easier for the maintenance techs to replace (they tend to get used often).
