I'm looking into plywood alternatives for building large subwoofers to make them easier to handle. At least on paper the sandwich panels ( https://www.rockwestcomposites.com/74040-4896.html) are lighter and stiffer than plywood, which would make them ideal sound panels. But I have not idea how to cut, glue and seal them off. Can I cut them just like wood using a jigsaw / circular saw?
What adhesive works best to glue them together? I'd need to join corners with faces ( like a T-shape, here is an example on how those speakers look, I'd obviously wouldn't notch them, but still need to join them somehow THAM15.PNG ). How can I seal off the open edges of the panel so there is no foam exposed anywhere ? I have experience fiberglassing with Poly & Epoxy resin, can that be used for both joining and sealing ?
Let's say as easiest example, how would I go about making a simple box with those sheets?
